Welcome to the family! Have seen The Wildhearts at least 14 times, (no. 15 in Bristol next month!) since the first time in 1991, and every time is different and fantastic in it's own way.

Ginger is one of the best songwriters Britain has produced and doesn't get half the recognition he, (or the many incarnations of his band) deserve.

Also check out 'Grievous Acoustic Behaviour' for some great live (drunken) acoustic versions of WH/Ginger classics.

Spoken like you get it. Except for the part about this band should be the Wildhearts. Ritch, Cj, and Scott are amazing! Long live the WH.

Nice to see another convert. :O)

I've been a Ginger/WH fan since '94, & finally got to see them live here in the States back in '04. One of the best nites of my life.

Dunno how many of his songs you've acquired so far, but there's TONS out there when you add in b-sides, etc. Enjoy the digging!

Thanks for the comment. This is no average band and it was a piece on the contrast between two almost-identical performances. My experience was enhanced ten-fold by internalizing the music.

Maybe people experience music differently.

Good review. Thanks for contributing. Wonder what you have been exposed to though. Front row at Springsteen??? Springsteen hasn't had the non-Disney energy since the Seventies (early to mid). How intense could the front row at his show be?

Average bands need the familiarity thing. Great bands will overwhelm you whether you know their music or not. It's happened to me several times. Some of my best live experiences were with unfamiliar music. I love it that way. Best experiences (I'm dating myself): Pixies raw, Cramps raw, L7 raw. All destroyed in a lasting way.

Much appreciate your review. Saw live stream from V room.
